UNS S30403
UNS S30403 Grade 304/304L has a low Carbon content and is generally preferred because it is known as the “free machining” version of type 304 Stainless. Grade 304/304L exhibits good combination of strength, corrosion resistance and ease of fabrication making it ideal for most industries. Cold working will increase both the hardness and strength, however, it does not respond to heat treatment. Also, the low Carbon content eliminates harmful Carbide precipitation during welding.
