Diversified Metal Products supplies manufactured and fabricated Pipe and related Pipe Fittings and Flanges to the petrochemical industry!

Machining

Machining processes involve the removal of material to change the size and shape of the starting stock. Pipe, Tubing, Bar, Plate, Fittings and Flanges are routinely machined to obtain a customers required dimensions. Diversified Metal Products can machine products complete in accordance to the customer’s drawings and or specifications.

Threading

Two common pipe threads exist, National Pipe Thread (NPT), which is a tapered thread, and the National Standard Free-Fitting Straight Mechanical Pipe Thread (NPSM) which is a straight thread. Female threads are designated as FPT and Male threads are designated as MPT. Diversified Metal Products can supply threading on Pipe, Fittings, Flanges and Bar.

Production Cutting

Abrasive, band, plasma and water jet cutting are available to meet your specific needs.

Boring

Boring is the process of drilling a hole into a solid bar with no intention of re-using the waste material. There is no core leftover like there is in trepanning

Honing

Honing is a productive manufacturing process used to improve the bore geometry and surface texture of holes in work pieces by removing metal after casting, drilling or boring.

Trepanning

Trepanning is a type of boring where a ring-like cut is made into a solid material with the coincided formation of a solid cylinder. Creating two separate pieces from one solid, the first is your desired shape and the second is the leftover core.

Gun Drilling

Gun drilling is an ideal solution for most deep and precision drilling projects. This high precision operation produces accurate, repeatable holes, with excellent surface finishes. Gun drills hold location to precise tolerances, are sized to exact specifications, produce burr free holes, and can be formed to produce specific shapes in blind holes with minimal machine adaptation.

Heat Treating

The heat treating process involves controlled heating and cooling of solid metals and alloys in order to manipulate the final mechanical properties. Essentially, heat treating changes the molecular structure of the materials to make it either harder or softer.

Quench & Tempering

Quench and tempering is the process of changing austenite to martensite. This is carried out by heating steel within or above the suitable austinizing temperature range and holding it for a period of time in order to affect the desired change in grain structure. Quenching is achieved by cooling the material at a critical velocity by submerging it in a suitable liquid medium which imparts greater hardness and brittleness. To increase the stability, the material is then tempered at a certain temperature for a set period of time. Quench and tempering is used to achieve specific hardness and mechanicals.

Stress Relieving

Stress relieving is the process of heating materials to a suitable temperature and holding temperature long enough to reduce stresses (or internal stress that remains after the original cause of stress has been removed), followed by cooling the material slowly to minimize the development of new residual stresses. Stress relieving is not intended to change the microstructure or mechanical properties significantly, it is pure intended to allow steel to remain “stress-free” during the manufacturing process and throughout its life cycle.

Structural and Pipe Bending and Rolling

Diversified Metal Products offers Bending and Rolling services. Pipe, Tube, Bar, Angle, Channel, Beams are capable of being formed with this process. Send your print or drawing for pricing.

Straightening

Straightening is the process of bending or bowing material using a hydraulic press in order to apply pressure at certain points and straighten any unwanted bent areas. There are a number of reasons for the straightening process to be completed. For instance, when material is delivered from the mill and does not meet proper commercial tolerance, or even after heat treatment of certain materials, it is necessary to straighten the material as sometimes it will bend outside the commercial tolerance.
