Hastelloy® C-276 is a nickel-molybdenum-chromium super alloy with added tungsten, engineered for outstanding corrosion resistance in highly aggressive environments. Known for its versatility, this alloy performs exceptionally well in both oxidizing and reducing conditions.
Its high nickel and molybdenum content provide superior resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion, especially in reducing atmospheres. Chromium enhances its resistance to oxidizing agents, while the low carbon content minimizes carbide precipitation during welding—preserving corrosion resistance in welded structures.
One of the key advantages of Alloy C-276 is its resistance to grain boundary precipitates in the weld heat-affected zone, making it ideal for as-welded chemical processing applications.
